Getting paid from abroad

Three ways clients abroad pay companies in the UAE.

Each one gets the money to you. They differ in what can be taken on the way, and in who converts it.

  • Client in the USfee?Correspondent bankfee?Your bank in the UAE

A SWIFT wire to your bank in the UAE

Your client's bank sends an international wire. It can pass through correspondent banks that each take a fee, so less can arrive than you invoiced, and your bank may convert it to dirhams at its own rate.

Local details vs a SWIFT wire
  • Client in the USPlatform balancefeeYour bank in the UAE

    A payment platform balance

Your client pays into a platform account and you withdraw to your bank. Payoneer, for example, charges 1.2% to 4% to withdraw to a bank with currency conversion.

    USD account details

Your client pays by ACH or wire from their own US bank, the way they pay a US supplier. Nothing passes through correspondent banks on the way.

How it works

How getting paid works in the UAE with Vezmo.

  1. Step 1
    Clients abroad pay your details

To your account details: ACH and wire in the US, SEPA in Europe, local transfer in the UAE.

  2. Step 2
    You see each payment arrive

Every payment in one account, with who paid, how and when.

  3. Step 3
To your bank in the UAE

Pay out to bank accounts in the UAE in AED, with the rate, the fee and the expected arrival shown before you confirm. Payouts are in early access.

For companies in the UAE

Why account details matter in the UAE.

Trading companies, agencies and software firms in the UAE sell to clients in the US and Europe. With local account details, those clients pay by ACH, wire or SEPA from their own bank instead of sending a SWIFT wire, and you see each payment arrive in one account.

Some accounts don't serve UAE addresses: Wise, for one, doesn't give USD account details to them. Companies in the UAE can apply for Vezmo in early access, and companies registered in a UAE free zone, including foreign-owned ones, can apply for AED account details too. We check your business when you apply.
