01
About these terms
These terms apply when your business uses Vezmo business cards. They add to the Vezmo Accounts Terms and our Terms of Service.
Cards are issued by a regulated card issuer under a licence from the card network. Before you get a card, you accept the issuer’s Cardholder Agreement, and each team member you give a card to accepts the issuer’s terms for card users. The issuer’s name is on the card and in those terms. If these terms conflict on cards, the issuer’s terms apply first, then these terms, then the Vezmo Accounts Terms and the Terms of Service.
02
Important things to know
- Cards are for business purposes only, never for personal, family or household spending.
- Card spending comes out of your Vezmo Accounts balance. You can only spend what is available.
- Cards are business cards, so consumer protection rules for personal cards (such as Regulation E in the United States) don’t apply.
- Card availability depends on where your business is and on the issuer’s approval.
03
Getting cards
Your business must have Vezmo Accounts and be approved by us and the issuer. You can then create virtual cards, and order physical cards where available, for yourself and team members you choose.
You confirm that your business is a commercial enterprise and that every card user works for your business. You are responsible for each card user and everything they do with their card.
04
Spending and limits
- When a card is used, we take the amount from your balance at once. If there isn’t enough, the payment is declined.
- You can set limits and controls for each card in the app. We and the issuer also set limits, and may block some kinds of merchants.
- A merchant may hold an amount first and settle a different amount later (for example, hotels and fuel). We hold the first amount and adjust when the final amount arrives.
- We or the issuer may decline a payment for security, fraud, legal or risk reasons.
05
Other currencies
If you pay in a currency other than the card’s currency, the card network converts the amount at its rate, and we add the foreign transaction fee shown in the app. If a merchant offers to charge you in your card’s currency instead, it sets its own rate, which is often worse; choosing the local currency is usually cheaper.
06
Fees
Card fees are shown in the app. We take them from your balance and give you at least 30 days’ notice before we raise a fee or add a new one for something you already use. The Vezmo Accounts Terms rules on changes also apply to these terms.
08
Disputes and refunds
If you don’t recognise a card payment, or a merchant didn’t deliver, ask the merchant first. If that doesn’t work, tell us within 60 days of the date it appears in your account. We and the issuer send eligible disputes to the card network, whose decision usually takes up to 90 days, sometimes longer. Merchant refunds go back to your balance.
09
Our liability
Vezmo is not responsible for a merchant’s goods or services, for a merchant refusing a card, for a payment the issuer or network declines, or for card-network decisions on disputes. The disclaimer and the limits on liability in the Terms of Service apply to cards.
10
Closing cards
You can freeze or cancel any card in the app at any time. We or the issuer may suspend or cancel cards, as the issuer’s terms and our Terms of Service allow, and at once if your Vezmo Accounts close. Cards belong to the issuer and must not be used once cancelled.
